August has been a busy month for parents as they get ready for their children to return to school, be it virtually or in person. Ambetter from Sunshine Health and the Host Committee for the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship (2021 Miami Host Committee) stepped up to assist.
In partnership with the 2021 Miami Host Committee, Ambetter sponsored a drive-through community event at Miami’s Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex on Aug. 15. The event provided personal hand sanitizer bottles, reusable masks and back-to-school necessities to families as they prepare for a safe return to school.
“We know keeping children safe and healthy while they learn is a top priority for parents,” said Liz Miller, President and CEO of Centene’s Florida health plans. “I’m very proud of Ambetter’s contributions to the community.”
Volunteers at the event helped families gear up for the new school year by distributing food, school supplies, backpacks, reusable masks, hand sanitizers and more. Ambetter donated a variety of school supplies for the event, including pencils, pencil holders and rulers.
“We’re proud to support the Miami Host Committee to provide essential school supplies for children in our community,” said Charlene Zein, Senior Vice President, Ambetter from Sunshine Health. “Now, more than ever, it’s crucial that every child has the supplies they need to succeed in school.”
