Sunshine Health is offering Community Connections Grants to support Florida-based nonprofits that help Florida households with utility payment assistance.
A minimum of 10 grants of $5,000 each will be awarded to nonprofits across Florida’s Medicaid regions to help families in need.
To be eligible, organizations must have 501(c)(3) status in Florida and have an existing Utility Assistance program. Applications will be accepted from 8 a.m. Eastern, July 22, 2024, to noon Eastern, Aug. 6, 2024. Applicants must answer all of the questions on the application to be considered.
Once awarded, there will no exchange of client and/or member specifics, but grant winners will be required to file monthly reports stating number of people served in each household, amount paid to what utility and a brief example of the problem and how the payment helped. Monthly reporting is required until the $5,000 has been fully spent and reported. Funds do not have to be directed at Sunshine Health members.
Grant applications will be vetted by the Sunshine Health Community Connections team for accuracy and completion. Eligible applications will be sent to an impartial internal voting committee comprised of subject matter experts across Sunshine Health departments.
Please complete the application and email it to SM_FL_CommunityConnections@SunshineHealth.com.
