Sunshine Health and Tallahassee Community College Announce Statewide Expansion of Workforce Development Program
Date: 08/16/22
Tallahassee, Florida
Sunshine Health presented Tallahassee Community College (TCC) with $500,000 to build on the success of the Gadsden Connect initiative, which launched in 2020, to address the shortage of healthcare workers by providing scholarships to Gadsden County residents who meet the eligibility criteria for Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide certification programs.
The expansion of the program, now known as Sunshine Health Works, will include the entire service area of TCC as well as Hillsborough and Broward Counties. Sunshine Health Works will allow residents to pursue a career in healthcare by offering industry-recognized training and certifications, and provides a pathway for its participants to secure a career in high-demand fields to better meet the needs of the workforce within the community.
