Sunshine Health, in partnership with Senator Corey Simon (R-Tallahassee), Bond Community Health Center and LabCorp, hosted a free prostate cancer screening event at the Sunshine Health Community Connections Center in Tallahassee.
The event provided free, on-site prostate cancer screenings through a simple blood test administered by LabCorp. Attendees also accessed community health resources, including sickle cell testing from the Sickle Cell Foundation, diabetes education from Big Bend AHEC, and information from Tobacco Free Florida and Florida A&M University’s TRIO program. The DEMP House Foundation was also in attendance, and the Ambetter Van engaged guests with interactive games.
“By offering education, free screenings and bringing health care resources directly to the community, we are able to encourage more men to take charge of their health,” said Charlene Zein, CEO of Sunshine Health.
The event was free and open to the public, drawing 26 men from across the community for these important screenings.
